Please Note the change of Our Monthly meeting night from Wednesday to Thursday, Starting on the 7th January 2010 !!!

From Thursday the 20th May 2010 we will be holding two meetings per month. On the 1st Thursday of each Month we will be holding our traditional meeting at the Gamecock Pub in West Kingsdown, usual time around 19:30 to 20:00 (ish’). In addition to this we will be holding a second meeting, during the summer months, on the "Third" Thursday of each month. This will be a ride out event, meeting up at the Lay By opposite the Oak Deane Café at 19:30. Please look at our Events page for full details.

If you are not able to attend either of these meetings some of us local to the Medway towns and Maidstone also team up with the Kawasaki Triples club on the last Wednesday of each month. We meet around 19:30 (ish) at the Lower Bell Public House, 201 Old Chatham Road, Blue Bell Hill, Aylesford, Kent ME20 7EF.

Although the Kent Branch is continually growing and flourishing we feel that members further down the county might consider our venues too far to travel for regular meetings. If any members would like to form a second VJMC Kent Branch in the:- Ashford, Broadstairs, Canterbury, Deal, Dover, Folkestone, Headcorn, Herne Bay, Hythe, Margate, Ramsgate, Staplehurst, Tenterden, or Whitstable areas please contact

The Kent Section was started approx mid 1980's by John Starkey. The Surrey Section co-ordinator, Ray Law, used to arrange ride outs starting from Westerham for both the Surrey and Kent Sections to attend. As time went on John arranged for the Kent Section to meet at The Portobello pub on the second Wednesday of the month, along with Surrey Section members Dave Jupp (Snr.), Graham Blunden, Colin Day and Mike Holloway. Dave and Colin are still regular attendees at our monthly meets, sadly Graham has since died and John lost his life in July 2001, following an accident on the M20. With John no longer around I offered to be the local co-ordinator in order to keep the Kent Section running. John was very keen to have a VJMC presence at our local South-East Motorcycle Show at Detling, Maidstone and I felt that we should continue this to raise the profile of the VJMC at a local level. We have achieved many successes at this show by winning 'Best Club Stand' several times and also individual class awards. This was only achieved with the solid support of the section members. We have now moved into the computer world and I am very pleased that Dave Jupp (Jnr.) is pushing the section forward with our own website. Unfortunately I am not very computer literate but I realise that this is the way forward so I will do all I can to learn at least a little bit! I am also very pleased that Paul Turk is taking up the role of events co-ordinator and has already arranged a number of ride outs that have been very successful. The Kent Section will continue to move forward with your valued support.

We currently meet on the 1st Wednesday of every Month at the Gamecock Public House, London Road, West Kingsdown TN15 6EL. Phone number 01474 852240.

Travelling up from the M26, Junction 2a, carry on up Wrotham Hill on the A20 towards West Kingsdown. The Pub is approximately 2.5 miles from the roundabout at the top of the hill situated on the left hand side of the road travelling towards Brands Hatch. If approaching from the Brands Hatch direction the pub is situated approx 1.5 miles from the entrance of the circuit on the right hand side of the road.

There is no set time for getting there but in the summer months members start to arrive around 19:30 and during the winter months this is usually pushed back to around 20:30. Everyone is welcome to attend, members or not.

Due to the increasing popularity of the branch’s events we will now be holding a second ‘Ride Out’ event on the second to last Thursday of each month, during the summer months. Meet up in the Lay By opposite the Oak Deane Café, in Wrotham, at 19:30. Please look at our events page for further details.
